{UAH} Who is Minister Tumwebaze fooling about councillors?
On December 6, 2013, I read with keen interest an inflammatory article authored by the minister for the Presidency, Frank Tumwebaze.
The minister was responding to an article penned by Dr Kizza Besigye. Besigye, like me, has the belief that the councillors who impeached the Kampala lord mayor, Erias Lukwago, were bribed by the state. It is, however, disgusting to see the minister arguing that they acted at will.
Tumwebaze should note that no Ugandan today can be taken for a ride. If the councillors were not bribed like the minister and some individuals have put it, why is it that some of them never supported the impeachment motion, but voted on the day of the exercise?
The state can hold meetings at night and behind closed door, but as soon as things hit the media, it takes the citizens micro-seconds to digest what is being hidden away from them. Besigye and those who have blamed the state regarding the KCCA have a point.
Alamiga Muzamil,
Arua Municipality.
