In Acholi culture, we never forget crime but we bury them. There is such a thing referred to as Mato Oput; a process of atonement, forgiveness and burial of hatchet. The link above regards the misdeed of your colleague in arms, Tinyefunze. He has some explaining to do. 

My advise to you and to him is that he should talk, he needs squeal. The northerners need explanation of what happened, what his role were and those involved. This is a propress that may lead to mato oput and clear the way forward. This cataract needs clearing, if the rumour in London of impending legal consultation by victims is true.
