{UAH} God and the Devils Miracle - That Kayanja Ka Kabaka is
So far what has come to mind are the following:
a. In relation to Gota Channel in sweden that link the Baltic Sea to the sea between Britain and Germany, were Mwangas' engineers going to use the same principals?
b. But in the first place, how did Mwangas' engineers come to an idea of the volume of water that was needed to allow navigation on the lake.
c. Given climatological study winds will be gushing in from the outlet of Lake. I am fascinated by the waves and the rotational thrill they create that in fact would propel the boats out of the lake with less effort! How did they reach such a scientific verdict?!
d. How heavy could the boats that would navigate the channel be?
e. Or in that case how deep would the channel be?
f. Would this channel flood the valley between Makindye, Ndejje, Munyonyo hills
g. How was Mwangas' engineers tackling this debacle
h. Where does the wind blow from to steer the boats out of the lake? In case there is an L formation to link Mwang's channel to the Nalukolongo valley link up to Mayanja River systems
i. Why are there no waves during night time?
j. If the lake never existed what would happen with millions of flood water liters into this valley from Mengo, Rubaga etc
Dr. Kayondo
I first visited that Lake in 1968 - or there about - there was a diving contest on that very Lake. Today, I am an accomplished geomorphologist with a better inquisitive mind. I do not just look at the water and but delve into the geometry.
The best one can do to see Kayanj's Miracle Centers' wonderful miracle that will lead to the disappearance of the lake is by google maps and study the topology or land elevation.
Let me repeat, once the wetland is gone the lake is gone. There are three water springs that feeds the lake - one behind Kayanja's church, one a heavy spring in front of St . Lawrence University gate and the third just at the side of St. Lawrence building.
Without the wetland, simple river geometry suggests that the soil and garbage will sediment the lake. There is much more to this since there is no way one will ever stop the underground water system find their way out. May be Ndeeba will flood as it now does!
My interest in all this is the science that was used to determine wind and wave direction, water flow hydraulics and high level topology (elevation engineering) that has also buffered Ing. Dr. Badru Kigundu, that he wrote an intuitive paper about the Lake Mechanics, for the seminar I myself organised.
I have made my students study the geomorphology the lake geometry to their own fascination. I must say - this lake can turn the city around by becoming a vital water channel to Munyonyo once it is linked to the wetland between Busabala and Salaam Munyonyo Road. How Mwanga could have studied this phenomenon, without a MAP, to come up with the suggestion of digging the Lake in the first place is amazing. If Africans had a scientific mind will delve themselves for so many years to come to study this lake and its aftermath.
Why yes because all river streams from this very wetland head west! Not in Lake Victoria Munyonyo wetland.
Even Micrale centers Gods will prophesie much about this wonderful miracle. But as Ing. Dr. Badru Kiggundu argued there must be more studies about the lake. I am studying it myself to a greater fascination of Mwangas' engineering mind.
Best
Bwanika--
