{UAH} Mexico in 1910 and Uganda today
Mexico in 1910 was similar to Uganda today. What next for Uganda?
We are providing this information to save Uganda what Mexico went through during the revolution and civil war that took the lives of one million people. Below is what obtained in Mexico in 1910. Compare it with what is obtaining in Uganda today and draw your own conclusion and recommendation.
In 1910 when the revolution began Mexico's economy had not recovered from the recession experienced three years back. Peasants, Indians and women were angry about abuses they suffered and loss of their land and communal rights. Urban workers were suffering from miserable salaries and indecent work conditions. Unemployment and under-employment figures were staggering. The country was characterized by violence, militarism and paramilitarism (Cockroft 2010).
Do you see similarities with Uganda today? If the situation does not improve, do you see the possibility of a revolution and civil war? If so what can you do to avert the catastrophe?
