{UAH} MY 1971 AND 1986 MEMORIES

One Monday evening on January 25th 1971, at my home village Nnambiriizi, l saw a man called Muwalimu Kaluuna Mukiibi, putting on a bark cloth singing Kabakka adda, Kabaka ajja. Others joined him in a cerebration. One pastoralist donated a bull they roasted, my aunt, Nantale donated a calabash of beer. l asked my mother what had happened, he told me "Gen. Amin awambye." Similar celebrations but with less enthusiasm were done up to 1979. Then came January 26th 1986, which climax, Onyango Obbo's false prophecy had fixed it to 1884. But it has gone beyond 2014. However if corruption with impunity is left to increase as it is the case, some nepotistic tendencies, lack of respect of curt rulings, and irrelevancy of state organs like parliament, judiciary, media, civil society, traditional institutions, religious institutions and local governments, by the executive arm of the state, then people will resort back to violence and blood shed, the Arab spring style, which was a thing of the past 1966 and 1986. The President should deal with the corrupt without fear or favour. Happy NRM NRA victory day.
