{UAH} Machar Flies to London

The rumours that started on internet at the end of this week was confirmed by the presidential spokesman, Mr. Ateny Wek, today at the presidential office in the capital Juba without more details.

"We have confirmed the rebel leader Riek visited the UK even when we have cancelled his passport,” Ateny said in Juba.

Chimpreports has been reliably informed that Machar holds dual citizenship, that of his country and United Kingdom and it is believed he is currently using the UK passport since the South Sudan government cancelled his passport when he was declared a chief coup plotter by President Salvatore Kiir after the December 15, 2013 incident.

"What happened last night was coup attempt by Dr. Riek and his group.

We are going to hunt for them and hold them accountable for that event," Kiir had said the next day after the event on the national television SSTV and also ordered for the arrest of Dr. Machar.

Though what took him to UK is not yet known, sources have told us that the UK government wanted to talk to Riek directly.

Meanwhile, Riek Machar’s wife, Angelina Janny Teny, has travelled to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to represent her husband in the second phase of peace talks expected to resume this coming week.

It’s not clear if she will take the position of chief negotiator from Taban Deng
