{UAH} Ugandans must avoid disintegration of their country

Working together we shall save Uganda from self-destruction
Uganda has the characteristics of former Yugoslavia: different religions, different ethnic groups and different levels of regional development that can easily be manipulated by internal and external forces and lead to the disintegration of Uganda with serious negative consequences.
Those who want secession in Uganda must examine past history including of the United States, Biafra in Nigeria and Chechnya in Russia and draw lessons.
Ugandans must examine the motives of those who want secession and ascertain who they are. Cases of Eritrea, South Sudan and East Timor are special and can't and shouldn't be used to justify secession of some parts of Uganda.
Shortly before he died in a helicopter crash, John Garang (RIP) with vast experience in the secession of South Sudan warned against wars and called for peaceful resolution of differences. Secession is very expensive and must be avoided.
There are some Ugandans who want to go back to the glorious past and for them the end will justify the means.
What Ugandans need to do is to come together, listen and hear the voices of reason and work out a system of governance that will give regions powers to govern themselves except in the areas of national defense, national security, foreign affairs and national currency that will remain the responsibility of the central government.
We should also keep in mind that when secession succeeds, the larger tribe or clan dominates the smaller ones and centralizes power, leading to smaller units to demand secession from the dominating group.
For God and My Country
Eric
