{UAH} UK based Themi Sebalu Nakibuuka has dragged radio man Peter Sematimba to court
UK based Themi Sebalu Nakibuuka, daughter to fallen prominent lawyer Paul Sebalu has dragged radio man Peter Sematimba to court over fraudulent transfer of her father´s land into his name.
Nakibuuka sued Sematimba together with the commissioner for land registration Saraha Kulata who she accuses of participating in the fraudulent transfer of the said land.
Sebalu, a senior lawyer and partner in Sebalu & Lule advocates died late last year at the age of 88. There was controversy at his burial as Sematimba who is his nephew, ordered the burial service to take place at night despite pleas by Sebalu´s only daughter who was in UK at the time of his death to wait for her to attend the burial.
The prime land measuring 0.48 Acres in Muyenga on block 244 where the famous Muyenga Club is situated valued at 5billion shillings including development there on is what Sematimba claims to have been given as a gift by the late Sebalu.
According to transfer documents,Sematimba transferred the property into his name on the 11th Dec 2013 whereas the late Sebalu died on the 8th November 2013. Nakibuuka contests the signature on the transfer forms "We asked Sematimba to produce any accompanying document to prove that my father bequeathed the land as a gift to him but he failed" said Nakibuuka
According to Nakibuuka,During a mamba clan meeting held on 17th Jan 2014 regarding the late Sebalu´s estate which was attended by close friends too, Sematimba claimed that the late Sebalu had bequeathed the land to him as a gift. Nakibuuka wants court to cancel and deregister Sematimba from her father´s certificate of land title and order him to hand over all other certificates of title in relation to the late Sebalu´s estate in his possession.
Late last year Nakibuuka claimed she was not satisfied with the way her father died and asked police to exhume the body to investigate the possibility of murder. Nakibuuka who lives in London says she was prevented from burying her father with a hidden agenda. She adds that Solomon Bwogi, her father´s caretaker, disclosed that on the fateful day,he found Sebalu dead but well positioned in his chair. "He(Bwogi) noticed that the keys in the door, which he found wide open, were different from the set of keys my late dad was using for his home. He could not understand how the door was opened yet he found my late father positioned in the chair lying still dead" she stated.
