Kenya: Uganda Gushes Over Lupita Directing Bobi Wine's Video

Ugandans are showing their support for Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o's win at the Oscar's. They are lauding her win and linking it to her directorial role in shooting Wahu and Bobi Wine's music video for Little Things You Do.

One Ugandan tweep, @iamogutudaudi wrote, "We are the country next to the country that has Africa's first Oscar winner. Yes! Even Uganda is going to milk this @Lupita_Nyongo win."

Lupita was part of the production crew for the music video that was part of an MTV Base Africa and Shell called MTV Making the Video Challenge with Shell. Their aim was to shoot some excellent music videos for a number of African musicians.

The initiative brought together Kenyan directors who were mentored by US director Melina Matsoukis. Lupita was joined by Ngethe Gitungo, Steve Kibunja and Roy Ogolla.

R Kay who produced the single for Wahu and Bobi Wine remembered being on set of the music video with Lupita. He told Word Is, "She was fantastic, but you see I have known her longer than that, I knew her when she was Miss Malaika. She is a pleasant person and a likable personality. What you have seen of her on TV and the various interviews that is who she is."

R Kay continued, "Lupita wining the Oscar was very exciting. It is an amazing thing for her. what she has achieved many people dream of and not only in her field in all fields. It is amazing we cannot wait for one of us to also win a Grammy."

The music video went on to win a viewers choice award on MTV Base as the most creative.
