{UAH} Today's Amama Mbabazi is a Product of Museveni's overstay in office.

Even Julius Caesar was accused of having ambition by his detractors, I think Amama Mbabazi is an honorable man - even a gentleman changes course when he is pushed too far!  His elasticity has been deliberately spent, all folks this high up the political scale have ambitions and Amama has shown the capacity to incubate his by delaying gratification while being  totally committed and loyal to the President Museveni for more than 27 years. The President ought to realize that whatever Hon. Amama Mbabazi is today, he created by his rather lengthy over stay in office. I like Amama and may the force be with him! 

Political Parties like the NRM have gotten it wrong -let all these fellows who have such Presidential ambitions in the party campaign in the primaries - whoever comes out victorious becomes the Party's nominee for President -then they can compete with other candidates from the other parties in the general elections.

 Denying them this opportunity to face the people and see for themselves that they can also win or lose is in itself selfish, anti democratic in a way and is not healthy for Uganda's politics. How many good men is the system willing to see faltering by the weight of incumbency or political gluttony-which leaves many with a biter taste of resentment and others turning to non conventional ways of operation that force them into exile, if they don't end up dead. Free them from the hold - let them compete and get weeded by the polity -what a non rogue way of exiting the political arena and hanging up one's Jersey with dignity.

I have trouble with any system that cannibalizing its up and coming successors - how will the President's Party manage to preserve their collective wisdom without promoting and allowing higher office ambition of such stoic understudies to the President?

A parent who hides and hoards all the goodies until Jesus comes ought not complain when the children become frustrated and show levels of dishonesty ! Ambitious people can only serve for so long while putting on hold their own agenda you cannot expect them to be that loyal -while you purposely bury their own ambitions. That tension between the old who are spent and the willing new - will surface in one form or another and it will manifest itself in time-according to the laws of entropy and conservation of energy.
