{UAH} UGANDA AND ETHIOPIA DISTANCE FROM CORPORATES AND PRIVATE SECTOR
President Yoweri Museveni discourages corporate social responsibility saying that it is an interference in government work. Instead, he calls for investors, who should put in place investments, provide jobs, make profits, which government shall tax and uses the money for service delivery and development , including social responsibility. He was speaking at IGAD summit this morning. The Ethiopian Prime Minister Halimariam Desalegn also discouraged putting a lot of trust in the private sector saying that it was not working for charity but for profits. They were speaking in IGAD Second Drought Resilience Summit that has been held at Speke Resort Beach and Conference Center today. More details in Bukedde and New Vision tomorrow.
