{UAH} Brig. Muhoozi Praises Chimpreports

The Special Forces Commander, Brig Muhoozi Kainerugaba has expressed satisfaction with the Chimpreports editorial team as the news website continues to consolidate its number one position as the prime source of balanced, timely, reliable and well analysed news stories in the Great Lakes region.

Muhoozi said the news website must maintain its professionalism if it’s to stand the test of time.

He was pleased to note that the website’s traffic has grown to almost 700,000 visitors per month in a space of two years.  

“Keep up the good work,” said Muhoozi, adding, “I have been reading news from Chimpreports since 2011. I learnt about it while I was in South Africa.”

The youthful soldier made the remarks while meeting Chimpreports Managing editor Giles Muhame in Entebbe on Friday.

Muhoozi’s remarks come at a time when Chimp Corps are preparing to celebrate the media organisation’s third anniversary in October this year.

Chimpreports has in recent months been strengthening its digital platforms with fresh applications for Android and iOS Apple customers.

The free apps enable readers to save internet bundles when browsing.

Muhoozi was also impressed to learn that the website has created employment opportunities for the youth.

He further urged his fans to continue reading news stories from the website.

On his part, Muhame explained to Muhoozi how the media house has grown from a single laptop in 2011 to a fully-fledged newsroom with a competent human resource team; sophisticated technology apparatus and the extensive deployment of reporters in the region.

Muhame further observed that the website will soon be able to live-stream special events including Presidential addresses; national budget reading and international conferences for its readers across the world.

The website publishes about 60 stories on a daily basis, with the better part of content being original reporting.
