In as much as our degree holders attack me for the Obote one government allowed us to have televisions with a national flag, yes a Sanyo and imported only by the government, Iddi Amin in his illiteracy head changed our society an argument no one can fight let alone reject. In as much as Rwanda claims to be a developed country and working hard to build a Chicago into Kigali, many Rwandese actually have never watched a television set. We have Mpoma Earth satellite station and all these services are available only for the paying of the channels to be opened up and send a signal to every Uganda home.

Just 8% of Rwandan homes have a TV set

Only 8% of Rwandan households have at least one television set, and
just 2% have at least one computer, the Fourth Rwanda Population and
Housing Census has revealed.

According to the report, there are 2.4 million private households in
Rwanda, with 83% in rural areas.

"The analogue technology only covered 46% of the geographical
landscape, meaning that the TV signal did not reach everyone," Arthur
Asiimwe, director general of Rwanda Broadcasting Agency, is quoted as
saying in The New Times.

"On the other hand, our digital signal covers up to 95% of Rwanda,
thus reaching more people. Certainly, more people will purchase TV
sets," he added.

The Rwanda Broadcasting Agency is trying to attract more television
viewers by improving the quality of content aired, Asiimwe said.

The African country currently has a number of TV stations, including
Rwanda Television, Family TV, Lemigo TV and TV10.
