US underestimate danger of radicals in Ukraine - ex-Congressman

The US underestimates the danger of radicals' coming into power in Ukraine, therefore Washington does not understand Russia's response to the recent events, ex-Congressman, former presidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"I believe there is lack of understanding in the US of how important the coming to power of the neo-Nazis is. Because anyone familiar with the history of the Second World War knows that the Soviet Union lost 30 million people," Kucinich said.

According to him, the Russians who sacrificed their lives did not do it for the sake of neo-Nazis coming to power 70 years later and being trained by NATO instructors.

"This is simply unacceptable. And this lack of historical understanding lies in the core of the failure to understand Russia's response to the latest events. The key here is to realize the way Russian and Ukrainian people suffered at the hands of the Nazis during the Second World War," the former Congressman said.
