{UAH} WBK AND GEORGE OKELLO ARE VICTIMS!

WBK and George Okello;

I have read with interest your discussion and criticism of ULS. Both of you wrote very passionately on the subject with relative knowledge. Much as i am not a lawyer by training of even a student of, however, i managed to conclude that both of you are victims of old diseases like polio, which India, just last week, boasted of wiping out, from their subcontinent and subconscience. Yours, is the old disease African writers wrote about in the 60s and fifty years later, you guys still exibit traces of the virus.

WBK and George, both of you are western educated and armed to the teeth, but what you lack is the ability to metamorphose the knowledge you attained into practical products. WBK mentioned in his piece, "working on pro bono" and "matters of public interest", which i found very interesting. And it's this that made me question whether both of you are carrying the old viruses. I wondered why all this time you guys have not been able to put your knowledge to work; how come both of you have failed to set up an arm length Uganda Amnesty type legal organisation to work in the public interest; a sort of lawyers without border organisation; a conduit for and run by law students to sharpen their teeth pro bono as they take on the government; to challenge government policies that infringe on liberty; to admonish organisations such as ULS perfunctory performance, to take on Kanyihura and his kiboko boys, defeats me!. This is what one would expect from learned people but the inability for both of you to come together and set up such an organisation shows you guys are sick and unable to metamorphose! Because this is a much bigger contribution in the fight of dictatorship. Infact, even bigger than what the opposition politicians are able to do. But as it is the case with victim hood, WBK resorts to politics as alternative therapy instead of professionalism as a tool. Uganda needs pros to come together and fight through their professions, and those without profession like Akim and Rajab Ali do the politicking.

I will take some convincing to accept that both of you are free of the disease of old, the last vestiges from the days gone by.

Akim
