{UAH} Fwd: UNAALIST Research in Northern Uganda - US Resident Acholi research assistants

Thank you so much for your response.  I am Pam Pryfogle, a doctoral candidate at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. I will be returning shortly to Lira, Uganda, and will be conducting field study for most of June. I am writing to you hoping you or those in your office could recommend individuals here in the U.S. that I might employ to assist me with piloting my research instruments. I will generously compensate those who I employ and will consider these individuals colleagues in my work. The contacts must be females from Northern Uganda and particularly of the Acholi tribe for my research purposes.

I have provided here my abstract to familiarize you with the direction of my research. I appreciate your quick response and value your help. Please feel free to call with questions.

ADVERSITY SHAPING REGARD FOR EDUCATION IN NORTHERN UGANDA: A STUDY OF ACHOLI MOTHERS' HIGH VALUE OF LEARNING
ABSTRACT
This study explores the Northern Ugandan Acholi mothers' regard for education in the aftermath of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) conflict and occupation. As both targets and victims of LRA savagery, the Acholi tribe has endured over 22 years of war, displacement, and devastation.  This phenomenological study identifies 10 Acholi mothers who were survivors of LRA perpetrated atrocities, and through the use of guided interviews and art with storytelling/narrative seek to elicit a rich, thick, essence of lived experience and to answer the question: How have the experiences of adversity shaped the Northern Ugandan Acholi mothers' regard for education and their roles in their children's education?   This study uses bracketing to analyze survivor's accounts for revealed themes of resilience and high regard for learning and formal education particularly within the context of relational, growth-fostering Christian communities and schools.
