"Faculty never want to look at someone and say, 'you can't wear that.' It's unfortunate that it has come to that, and it's unfortunate because no one wants to feel their personal expression is being stifled," - says Buott Matheson.

She goes on to say the policy is in the spirit of creating a learning environment that is free of distractions and comfortable for all.
