The Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has urged parents to spare time with children to guide them in coping with challenges associated with teen ages and guide them into responsible adulthood.

Ssekandi said crimes committed by teenagers affect family relations even when parents may not have consented or assisted in the crime.

The Vice President was speaking at the burial of Rogers Lusiba a 16-year-old boy a former student of St. Mugagga SS in Masaka district killed by a fellow teenager who attacked him with a panga in Kyanamukaka Sub County.

Ssekandi said that such incidences can be avoided if parents can take off time to interact with their children and understand what they go through both at home, school and in their relationships with others.

Lusiba who was a son to Emmanuel Katalagga and Vincecia Kamaali of Bulegeya village in Kyanamukaka -Masaka, died after sustaining a deep cut on the head that was inflicted to him by friend after a disagreement.

The Vice President contributed sh2m towards burial expenses.
