{UAH} Ocen - Food Prices /Production and Urbanisation
Mr. Ocen
Can you kindly ask your friend (discussion) about food prices visa vi production, as per combination of two factor;
- Trade between Uganda and South Sudan
- More people in Uganda moved into planned and organized settlements.
I tend to believe that we waste a lot of resources on agriculture where production costs are higher than returns on production due to absence of factor b.
Over course our consumption patterns matters a lot. Homes without fridges, cookers etc.
This to me this is crucial. If my observations are right then urbanisation will have more effective impact on agricultural production and consumption than trade between Uganda and South Sudan. I tend to believe that production will go up by 60% of food products produced in Uganda with urbanisation.
Your discussion and attention was about prices in the seven year I have been in Uganda has not changed so much – but with increased urbanisation/production prices might move slightly but not so rapidly as may be more hands will be involved into this profitable venture.
Bwanika.
