Africans, keep making your beds……

In Africa, some places, criminals rule (surrounded by criminals) and, it is business as usual, while a few people clap and others kneel;

In Africa, some places, leaders govern, surrounded by criminals and, it is business as usual;

In Africa, some places, criminals are found in government; thieves, killers, liars, looters and more but, they keep power and citizens clap, others kneel;

In Africa, some places, thieves are 'caught', charged and 'sentenced', jailed for weeks, released….and they are carried high –for they 'stole' (begged, donor money…I cringe) just a little less than the others, in higher places, presented as 'victims' and they are now ' our heroes', Africa;

In Africa, some places, hegemonic cabals in rule, criminals, dodgy characters are rewarded with positions of power (even 'elective', supposedly) even as 'presidents' at the UN and people claim 'patriotism';

In Africa, some places, legitimate leaders govern very well – yes very well - but betimes officials are found wanting but loyalty is key or is it impunity, they keep their positions and it is business as usual;

In Africa, some places, very few places I fail to identify, public service means integrity, very few;

Within minutes of a jury finding Andy Coulson guilty of 'phone hacking', the political knives are out (quite rightly) –aided and reminded by relatively free, independent media -for Prime Minister David Cameron for having employed the man as his director of communications;

Cameron, even with your 'taking responsibility and, full and frank apology' I wish your government could fall and, quickly…..by the ballot of course, not your bullets to Africa…;

But you know David….my wishes are purely political because of our differing platforms and nothing else….in this 'world of free conscience';

Before I hear 'that' is the Old Bailey in Britain (not Buganda Road in Africa)……just remember, I am an African – you decide.
