{UAH} This is our Society

There is a serious problem in our country. However, looking around the world and asking how have Africans faired in all life sectors and aspects, there is a general dismal performance to say the least.

Ugandan to start with, will oppose anything good or bad. They steal street lights, they steal from their work.  Now NRM with all its members coming from basically seminaries would have the best organisers, disciplinarians, etc, but instead has presided over the most grotesque social failures, in the history of the country. These survive off extortion and robbery of all types without any shame or remorse.

That is very sad indeed to note such human failures. Tell me any indigenous Uganda who has built up a worthy business empire as Sudhir Ruparelia has done , none apart from the hybrid Mulwana. What is happening in personal lives, is what happens at state level, socially and community wise.

A Ugandan minister will call an academic dean and ask him to pass her daughter who is total failure and who never attended any classes! An army office will call a border post or traffic police to release undertaxed or illicit cargo, or ramshackle boda boda or taxi respectively- lest the office looses the job. How are drugs entering Uganda International Airports

  This is our society!

Hospitals, schools, government institutions are all on a death bed. Take Makerere getting billions from private students and donations and is no better – it is a disgusting African problem. We do not understand the world and unfortunately the world will never understand us!

Let me give you a sordid example of traffic police and road users: If for example you told Europeans not to talk on phone while driving, they will oblige with some hesitation. If you do the same with Ugandans and Africans, generally they will reject the law preferring to die. The  essence for colonial frustration and bashing.

The people who violate Uganda laws are basically an educated lot going by what has taken place over the forty year period – it is now an inculcated cultural aspect that will need roughness to uproot!
