{UAH} UP DATE ON OKETCHO GORDIAN

Oketch Gordian is a Jab coming from Tororo. His wife Rose is back in the village with the children. She last talked to her husband last year in July.  A well wisher called her to inform her that the husband had a problem.  She is aware and the family is too poor to do anything right now as Gordian was the bread earner.  Oketcho has a brother he is called Bruno Omella operating as a driver in Kampala and his Mob. No. is 0779820490. The information was given to the First Secretary at the Ugandan High Commission this morning when I went there to see how we can address the issue.

Positively things are working out; the High Commission has started using all channels to ensure that Oketcho is delivered home. They will use the Diplomatic Police to apprehend him and they are also approaching an International Organization for Immigration to secure his ticket.

Background; Oketcho had a very good job which was earning him a very good salary. The problem was to do with a work permit which had expired. He tried to push it at the Home Affairs but for some reasons or by mistake it was rejected. He got very depressed and he even approached the Uganda High Commission. But they could not do much either. He actually was in the process of going back home but due to too much depression things went bad.

This morning; I approached the High Commission, the High Commissioner is called Peter Julius Moto from Lira. A very warm guy and they gave me all the audience and finally we have made arrangements to take Oketcho back home. He will probably be received by a police ambulance with his family and then they will proceed to Butabika – the mental hospital. We are doing everything possible to make sure that Oketcho is delivered home.

Family support; for those of you who had pledged support, Oketcho's family will definitely need some support. And probably a member of UAH could coordinate the exercise.

Byebyo ebyange.
