{UAH} Adult Male Acholi Speaker in DC Needed ASAP
Dear Community,
National Public Radio - NPR is hoping to find an Acholi-speaking man in Washington, DC (or the Maryland or Virginia suburbs) who would be willing to lend me about 20 minutes of his time to do the voiceovers for a radio story about a Ugandan father who has brought his children to Washington for treatment of their nodding syndrome.
The interview with the father (who speaks only Acholi) has already been translated. But they need someone to do the voiceover in English, and of course it is best for that person to speak with a slight Acholi accent and to be of similar age of the father.
Unfortunately since NPR is a nonprofit; it can't offer payment for something like this. But it's a useful service in terms of informing the public on this important issue, and the correspondent will make it as convenient as possible for the volunteer -- they will drive out to wherever he is with their recorder, and will take no more than 20 minutes to do the voiceovers.
NPR is hoping to do this as soon as possible, so if you could send me the contacts for any persons you know who might be willing that would be great.
