{UAH} Gang rape victim testifies in court

The 23-year old woman at the center of a sodomy case has narrated to court how she was sexually abused by four Pakistani businessmen.
The woman told court that the suspects subdued her and performed despicable sexual acts on her. Lillian Buchyana presided over the case.
The woman, who was testifying as the first prosecution witness, told court that the acts included one sitting on her head and inserting his sexual organ in her mouth, while others penetrated her through all remaining orifices till their satisfaction.
All this was done in a time-span of two to three weeks, she said.
She said that after spending only two days, the suspects came back the following day from work in the afternoon speaking their language, sat in the living room and requested for water.
Meanwhile as she was going to get water, the suspects entered their bedroom. She took water to the bedroom and Sadiq Muhammad, who is still at large, grabbed her hands and ripped off her clothes and locked the door.
"At first I thought they were going to kill me but they threw me on the bed and started using me from behind," Mbabazi told a stunned courtroom.
She told court she tried to resist and shouted then one Moses picked a knife and pointed pressed it aganist her throat.
The following day she requested Zaheer to let her go back home but they instead locked her in the house until she finally escaped.
Clad in a green blouse and black leggings, the woman said she reported the matter to police after the suspects refused to treat her yet she was in unbearable pain.
"Due to a lot pain I was going through without treatment, I decided to report the matter to police," she added.
Under cross examination by defence lawyer, she confirmed that she took long to report the matter to police because the act was embarrassing and she did not want her relatives in Sheema district and friends at her work place to know about it.
She also confirmed that as a result of the act, she got pregnant and had a miscarriage.
Ahmed Asahaporo, 31 and Mohammed Wagasa and others still at large face charges of having canal knowledge against the order of nature (sodomy) and domestic violence.
Those at large include Zaheer Muhammed and Sadiq Muhammad.
Prosecution led by Lino Anguzo alleges that the suspects between September and December, 2012 while at their home in Kiwatule, a city suburb, confined the victim and sexually molested her continuously until she got chance to escape.
In addition, the suspects are said to have beat the victim whenever she tried to resist their attacks.
The suspects were arrested by Kiira police on October, 13 2013 on allegations of gang rape at their home in Kiwatule.
However, the initial gang rape charges were recently changed to sodomy by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The suspects were arrested with a valid working permit issued in the names of YUASA motors Limited located at Nakawa Naguru Junction in Kampala. YUASA Company deals in Vehicle sales.
