{UAH} Liver For One Another - Leaders & Everyone of Us!
Yesterday I was listening to the news and I heard of some payment (5bn/=?) to be made to the Bazirwanako (veterans) and then I remembered some political chap in Uganda trying to teach Ugandans how to be patriotic.
Why doesn't he start with these guys demanding for such hefty sums of money?
Who exactly sent them to go and fight? Wasn't is their decision?
When they decided to go and fight, were they foreign citizens coming to do Ugandans a favour to liberate them?
Then the report went on to say that these veterans actually included names of people who were born long after the war had ended! What's wrong with Ugandans?
This morning as I was headed to office I saw a young boy of about 12 years near the Kitgum House junction. He was carrying box-papers which he uses as his beddings somewhere near on the street, he carried them to some hideout for the day until he comes back in the evening for them, and he went to look out for a living (whatever he does to get what he eats, God knows). I felt a pinch in my heart. So many questions went on in my mind and then I remembered these veterans asking for money. I remembered so many financial excesses this government offers it's puppets.
I wish I can just be president of this country, there are certain things that can just not happen when I am the leader of my people. We need to start living for one another.
While you are thinking of taking that bribe, first think of such young children sleeping on streets.
While you are thinking of scheming to get more money from the tax payers coffers, first think of someone who has not had a meal for sometime.
While you are thinking of hoodwinking someone to pay you more money, allocate you more resources, first think of someone whose child is dying and cannot afford even transport to take him/her to a government health facility that has no medicine.
Think of others the same way you want them to think of you. For that's the main purpose for our existence.
