Simon,
Which "Saleh" are you talking about? You don't mean the General with a PHD in "humanconomics"?

Abbey,

I am wondering who will be the next and last presidential secretary to President Museveni. Many eyes are now turned to Rwakitura and the president might get a hard time to zero on the right substitute but he should not look far from home; there are many qualified people there: Saleh could be a very good choice since he has experience, he is popular locally, nationally and internationally, he is not corrupt and knows the president well.

Well, the president knows better or he might pick another poor person to enrich as he helped Mirundi who had only one suit before he was graced with the appointment. He brags now that is a rich man. Should he be investigated how he suddenly became rich? Did the president use proper channels to enrich his secretary and the family? Tamale can be a good candidate for future investigation. I am sure George is already preparing papers to that effect; help him if you have information that might be useful in the case.

This is contradictory, you help a poor person and he/she starts bragging about the help which in the end attracts investigators. That is why I might never help Allan as he might start singing praises and dancing beating his chest after one or two of American muramba,

He will probably give Mirundi a ministerial post or RDC or something, if he gives him the boot. President Museveni rarely lets down people who publicly praise him.

KAMPALA -  Controversial and outspoken presidential press secretary, Tamale Mirundi, has said his contract as aide to President Yoweri Museveni has expired.

Commenting on the ongoing debate on his impending exit, Mirundi told journalists at the Uganda Journalist Association (UJA) headquarters in Kampala that his stay at State House would depend on Museveni's goodwill.

"My contract ended. It is now up to the president to either renew it or not," he said.

Tamale Mirundi, one of the most abrasive and confrontational aide to occupy the office, said he joined the office of the presidential press secretary a poor chap but that he has achieved many things in the over ten years of service.

Bragging about his wealth and success that has accrued from his front-bench stay in the corridors of power, Mirundi praised Museveni for having a good heart and resisting calls from several circles that he sacks him.

Mirundi also said the president defeated all his detractors by keeping the controversial man around.

"I entered State House when I had one suit. But look at what I have achieved. The President educated me and my children in some of the best universities in Scotland," he told reporters.

"Even if my contract is not renewed, I will not complain. I can assure you that I will never attack Museveni when I am outside State House."

He went on to reveal that by saving his mother from pro-Buganda youth in 2009, President Museveni made a great contribution to his life and family.
