{UAH} Police Manhandling of wanainchi
Colleagues,
Bukenya, Police issue parallel statements on detention
While I encourage police to do their work of keeping law and order, the current cries by some MPs should not be ignored even if the legislators have narrowed their complaints to their constituents only.
To me, the security of citizens seems to be at stake.
Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is complaining of harassment and arrest of his supporters in Kanungu;
Former vice president Gilbert Bukenya is complaining of arrest of his supporters in Kakiri;
what is happening?
The two MPs are able to complain may be because they are "powerful," can Hon. Mike Mukula, MP Soroti Municipality also complain if any of his constituents is harassed? The fear instilled in Mukula has castrated him to the extent that he even fears to walk in the streets of Soroti Municipality, his own constituency.
The IGP needs to come clean over these allegations of wrongful arrests and detention or else he may be blacklisted by the Americans and Europeans which may deny him vacations and conferences in those countries; that will be disastrous for him considering that he is a very busy and important person in the region who attends several conferences.
