This a male bush duiker. The bush duiker is called "Empeewo" in Luganda, and known as "Ensa" in Runyoro-Rutooro, in Acoli it is called Lacek, Amur," in Swahili the duiker is called "Nsya," and in Runyankore the duiker is "enuuma," and in both Iteso & Karimong the duiker called "Amori." The male duikers have straight short horns. The bush duiker of the one clans of people of Buganda Kingdom, and the head of the duiker clan ("Ekika ky'empeewo" in Luganda) is called Jjajja Omutaka Kiggye based at Bubiro village located in Kyaggwe. In the clans of Ankole Kingdom members of the duiker clan are referred to as the "Basingo." It is not a taboo or forbidden non-members of the Mpeewo clan to eat its nice and tender meat.Essiga lya Kulubya e Kkungu, Kyaddondo is one of the clan sub-divisions (amasiga) of Mpeewo clan

2.This a female bush duiker ("empeewo enkazi" in Luganda). The distinguishing feature of female duikers is that they are hornless. The younger one is called "akaweewo" in Ganda language. The duiker is a very fast sprinter and can jump very long distances to escape from predators.

Relevant statutory provisions of Uganda:
Section 30 of the Wildlife Act prohibits utilisation without wildlife use right or permit
Section 30 of the Wildlife Act provides for a professional hunter's license upon payment of a prescribe fee
Section 2(1)(d) of the Wildlife Act provides for the protection of rare, endangered and endemic species of wild plants and animals
Section 279 of the Penal Code Act forbids killing animal with intent to steal
Section 334 of the Penal Code Act forbids wilful and unlawful killing, maiming or wounding any animal capable of being stolen
