{UAH} LET WOMEN DRIVE IN SAUDI ARABIA
'Let women drive in Saudi Arabia' (Sep. 18)
When everyone gets used to it, it won't be such a big deal. Men do go crazy seeing women crossing roads or walking in malls. Should women stop doing these things? Have extremely strict laws against men (no matter what their 'wasta' or influence) to stop them from behaving like wild animals and then we won't have to worry about letting women drive.
Yusra Ahmed
It is not only a matter of driving; it is a mater of going out alone at anytime to any place. Driving permission means full European freedom, that is what the hidden agenda is.
Sheikh Faisal
Driving is a necessity today! Everyone above a certain age must learn and know how to drive. Also, in emergencies they must be able to take control of a vehicle. As far as the discussion goes about driving in Saudi Arabia, leave it women, their husbands, their parents and their families to decide rather than forcing an opinion on them.

First, teach girls and women how to stand properly in a line and wait their turn, then you can introduce that concept when they are propelling tons of steel through space. Spend one day watching girls at a school canteen and you will realize that it is going to be a long time before women here can wrap their minds around driving.

Let women drive as long as they are accompanied by their husbands. Women driving alone can lead to fitnah (temptation, sedition) as in Islam women are not allowed to go anywhere without their legitimate partners or family.
Ernawati Djuansyah
Great! I need to drive to accompany my children to school, because I don't want to let them alone with DRIVERS. If my husband has to be with me, then why do I need to drive at all? He can do it, like he does now. To which fitnah can a mother lead, when she is providing for the needs of her children?
