{UAH} Mbabazi Saga: How Ready Is He Really?
As President Museveni appoints a new Prime Minister to replace the
ambitious Amama Mbabazi who could have become impatient waiting for
his turn to become president, many commentators are pondering on the
consequences. But others, especially Mbabazi's campaign team, are
surely shifting gears into 4 wheel, all-terrain overdrive. If there
was any sign that the Mbabazi 2016 tank was rolling ahead and crushing
any internal party limitations in its path, it was his campaign
posters and t-shirts in full display during the national teams last
football game. The former Prime Minister "sponsored" the match for all
Ugandans to enjoy and gave away free tickets to lucky callers on
national TV. The presenters were mentioning him as the benefactor at
any opportunity during the live broadcast by the governments own UBC
TV and radio. A shocker for Museveni.
By dropping Amama Mbabazi as Prime Minister, all kids gloves are now
off...and possibly on both sides.
I mentioned sometime back that this was a fight to the death. Well a
red line has clearly been crossed now, and the operational key word at
these times is STEALTH.
In other words, stab the other in the back while you can and while he
isn't watching. Hasn't that been their common tactic since their rebel
days? Both surely wouldn't miss another chance at it for survival.
We are also set to discover the full Mbabazi 2016 network that clearly
tripled in youth support (if we add the unemployed) compared to the
initial NRM youths group!?!
