President Yoweri Museveni has called upon the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to send entrepreneurs to invest in the economic development of Uganda.
"Encourage investors from the areas of capital like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to come and invest in Uganda. What we need is investment in agro-processing and minerals", he said.
The President was today meeting with a Saudi delegation at State House, Entebbe that has been visiting the country. The visitors were led by the Secretary General of OIC, Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani.
In the meeting that was also attended by the First Lady, Mrs. Janet Museveni, the President also called on the OIC to invest in infrastructure development like roads, railway and education.
Mr. Iyad Ameen said OIC pays a lot of attention in supporting educational institutions in Uganda such as the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) adding that the organization intends to contribute to efforts aimed at uplifting science and technology for the people in Africa.
