President Museveni and his closest family members have today celebrated his 70thbirthday, Chimp Corps report.

The President and First Lady Janet Museveni cut a cake at their country home inRwakitura, Kiruhuura District on Sunday.

A brief ceremony and prayers were held to celebrate the President's life.

Museveni was born "about" 1944, according to his bookSowing the Mustard Seed.

The exact date of his birth remains a mystery as his parents only based on historical events to determine his birthday.

"I use the word 'about' because my parents were illiterate and so did not know the date. In such circumstances, dates were associated with events," wrote Museveni in his book published in 1997.
