This has just come in very few seconds ago. In a press conference held at Mt. Sinai hospital where Mayor Rob Ford is hospitalized, Dr. Zane Cohen has just stated the following, the Mayor of Toronto Rob Ford has been diagnosed with malignant liposarcoma, a very rare type of cancer that makes up less than 1 per cent of all cancers. It arises out of the fatty tissue, has not spread to any organs, the malignant tumour in Mr. Ford’s abdomen is about 12 centimetres by 12 centimetres. Dr Cohen also added that a second nodule has been found in the mayor’s left buttock. The mayor is going to undergo chemotherapy for about three days, before a “wash-out period” of 18 days where doctors will reassess the results.

All Mayoral debates which have been planned to take place today have just been cancelled. The organizers are stating that they are cancelled in respect of Mayor Rob Ford’s family. Further debates will be planed for another day. We are expecting a news conference from Mount Sinai hospital at exactly 5pm Toronto time to probably know exactly what Rob Ford is facing.
A news conference is scheduled for 5pm Toronto time.
