Let us not forget, the late Folke Bernadotte, the very strong Swedish Ambassador who was unanimously chosen to be the United Nations Security Council mediator in the Arab–Israeli conflict of 1947–1948. He was assassinated in Jerusalem in 1948 by the militant Zionist group Lehi while pursuing his official duties.

I think, the newly elected government of Sweden knows and, or expected and some EU countries may be critical, but at the end of the day peace is a matter of give and take. YES, American had continued to endorse the politics of survival of the fittest, but it had never brought peaceful coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians since the creation of this state of Israel.

Yes.But this is retrieving the Socialdemocratic

Middle East policy back on agenda. The socialdemocratic party has

since the Olof Palme and Sten Andersson era along with

Norge worked hard for Palestinian sovereignty

(recall Nobel Prize to Arafat?!).

However, since the dominace of conservatives in the EU parliament,

not much to that end is realized.

Already there has been wide protest from USA and even from

certain organisations within the EU.

It is a bold declaration but as said, my opinion is that the EU in its present outfit shall not support it.

We need more red governments in Europe to counter blue dominace in EU.

If true, that would be a positive move in the right direction. With the Swedish setting the ball rolling, there is a likelihood of other Scandinavian countries following suit.
