{UAH} Ex Kawempe Mayor Charged, Sent to Luzira Prison

Former Kawempe division LC3 chairperson Nasser Takuba Kibirige was last week sent on remand at Luzira prison for allegedly forging and obtaining a land title through fraudulent means.

Takuba was jointly charged with a one Valentine Kajungu, a medical dispenser   before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Boniface Wamala.

Prosecution alleges that the duo between 2002 and 2011 within Kampala district, forged land transfer forms in the names of the late Scholastica Nanteza Mukungu, purporting that she is the sole beneficially  of  the estate of the late  Samuel Mukungu in Kyadondo – Nakyesanja  whereas not.

The two are also said to have gone ahead to forge judicial documents including letters of administration purportedly issued by the High Court-Family Division in the names of the late Nanteza .

Court documents also show that the duo unlawfully uttered the above forged documents before the Commissioner for Lands in order to fraudulently procure a land title in the names of the said Scholastica Nanteza.

Takuba and Kajungu denied the 7 counts and they will be returned to court on the 24th this month, for court to consider their bail application.
