{UAH} a Watery quagmire!
I connected My house to National Water in 2004. They insisted that I put the Water Meter outside my fence in spite of my pleadings for them to put it on the inside knowing it would be vandalised. Sure enough it was and it was repaired and this time it was put in a bit of hidden corner (still against my plea to have it inside). Recently it was vandalised again, and as a result left leaking profusely. This caused my bill to rise from the approximately 30,000/=, that I normally use to 200,000/= plus in one month. I reported to the N.W.S.C offices in Jinja. They came and verified what I reported, repaired the faulty meter and this time (thank Heaven) agreed to put the Meter in the safe inside of the fence. Interestingly enough they have asked me to write pleading with them not to pay the extra large bill but have at the same time told me not to be hopeful of a favourable response!
