{UAH} Hon. Emilie Kyambadde /Tumwebaze: Have Building and Road standards

 Forumists

The government should come out with building and road standards in town and municipal councils. Additionally  there is need to have town and municipal council planning and modelling standards.

Towns and urban centers should not just develop anyhow.

If one moves around Kampala slums or slums in any town in Uganda, one is defeated by the way buildings are constructed and lack of standard access to these buildings. This is contributing to the filthy environments Ugandans work into.

Who can invest into such dirty environments?

Ministry of Transport and that of Housing and Urban development should come out with standards to be followed in the construction of road and buildings in urban regions.

If this can't done by the  ministries I can help to have a team do this sort of work for the government.

What types of road do we need in urban centers where we have markets, trading residences, churches etc

What type of buildings should we have have in urban centers - residences, commercial buildings, recreational buildings etc,

What are the parameters that should be followed in urban building  and road construction design and modelling?

I wish ministers can take time off visit fresh food markets in and around this country – you will be amazed with the filth

Every season brings out the ugly in Uganda. It has been raining since April May and the chaos is total.
