{UAH} Two opposition centres, in Uganda

Folks:

I have noted Uganda has two oppositions namely, the direct action opposition epitomised by Dr Kizza Besigye and Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago, and the official or formal opposition represented by the Press conference talking opposition party leaders and their spokespersons.  It is fair to say most Ugandans have certainly heard of Dr Kizza Besigye and increasingly his sidekick Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago due  to their visibility,  colorful and courageous actions.

Granted, Dr Besigye and Lord Mayor are members in good standing in mainstream opposition parties too, but they have opted for direct action to advance their struggle.  The main opposition, represented by elected party leaders, Mr Mao, General Muntu and Mr. Otunnu is doing their part, but seems overshadowed by the direct action opposition which seems to appeal to ordinary Ugandans especially un urban areas.  So how should the two oppositions, harness their resources and actions into something bigger for the good of Uganda?

Put bluntly, what kind of opposition appeals to most Ugandans longing for change? Direct action opposition aka in your face or mainstream opposition? Which strategy is likely to yield results?
