Botswana: Social Sciences Faculty Members On Suspension
Gaborone — The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dr Unity Dow has told Parliament that following investigations, three members of the faculty of social sciences at the University of Botswana have been suspended from their positions.
She said the dean and deputy dean were suspended from their responsibilities and disciplinary hearings for them had been concluded. Dr Dow said they would receive letters regarding the outcome by December 12, adding that the lecturer was suspended from UB and the disciplinary hearing was interdicted by the Industrial Court and they awaited their decision on the way forward.
MP for Selebi Phikwe West Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked her if she was aware that three members of the faculty of social sciences being dean, deputy dean and an academic staff member at UB had been suspended from their positions this year and if so what was the progress on their suspension.
