Two Kenyan athletes have been banned by the country's athletics body over failing doping tests. Joyce Kiplimo and Viola Kimetto were banned by Athletics Kenya for two years each. The suspensions came after a meeting held by Athletics Kenya Medical and Anti-doping Commission on December 10th.

Kimetto's case can be traced back to December last year when a urine sample taken during the Macau Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon revealed traces of Norandosterone which is a prohibited substance.

Urine samples of Kiplimo dating back to April 20, 2014 at the Yangzhou Jianzen International Half Marathon, in Yangzhou China also revealed presence of Norandosterone.

Kimetto's ban took effect from 12th October 2014 while that of Kiplimo started on April 20th 2014.
