|  | Basic Function This post doctoral scientist will have PhD in Dairy Chemistry and Technology or related discipline. The appointee will work as part of a team responsible for the optimisation of milk protein standardisation for improving the quality of cheese from a seasonal milk supply, as part of a state funded initiative in dairy processing in collaboration with industry. Duties & Responsibilities specific to this project: •To determine the efficacy of membrane filtration, under varying conditions, to enhance the quality of cheeses made from a seasonal milk supply •To prepare cheese trials, make cheese at pilot scale and analyse resultant cheeses •To record and analyse experimental data from cheese trials and prepare project reports. This involves development of soil derived maps, development of basic soil data management structures for the collation of field and laboratory data and development of database for land management questionnaire.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Development of maps for field site identification of 160 sites in Ireland, using ArcGIS 2.Development of databases for the collection of field and laboratory data in Access 3.Provide assistance to project manager for data management Person Specification Essential •Candidates must have a Level 6 qualification in Geography, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science or a related discipline.
