SV: {UAH} Mbabazi thrown out of NRM top organ - National - monitor.co.ug

I choose to observe the state of affairs from another perspective: call it a general
African mind-set perspective.

I look at this not as a syndrom particularly akin to the NRM but, ALL AFRICAN POLITICAL PARTIES and indeed,
society institutions.

We hold fast to "ONCE A CHAMP; ALWAYS THE CHAMP!!!!!

In most modern democracies, people do resign on their own accord or are discharged for varried
reasons but ( including mere divergent person-chemistry or simpler conflicts like lack of co-operation
or focus.

It happends all the time. But in MOTHER AFRICA or to AFRICANS,it is like the end of the world
or the end of life!!!!!

I hear:

" LORD MAYOR YOO; LORD MAYOR YOO
" MBABAZI YEE; MBABAZI YEE
" OLARA OTUNU YAA; OLARA OTUNU YAA
"MUSEVENI YOO;MUSEVENI YOO
"BESIGYE DO YAA; BWESIGE DOO YAA"
((( You kand help me fill the list or cont it way back to the beginning of time.....)))))

WHY THIS PERSON FIXATION when there are many millions Ugandan and many thousands qualify everyday from the various institutions waiting for the opportunity (their turn) to
show what they go for?

Let them retire.

Why the commotion? Well, my opinion is that it is because they are fake..., false....:they do not resign but keep on standing with legs spread all over at guard!!!

They are afraid. They declare they have resigned but keep on striving
as though they are the only capables!!!

Let freshers come in for considerations than recycleing champs.

Ocen;

Museveni is feigning his new line up as a product of internal democracy. But we know better; he's the "majority" of CEC and NEC members.

Like Moi in the 80's. Museveni is using the various decision-making organs of NRM to rubber-stamp his wishes and elevate them into party decisions. Somehow, he still manages to catch some people by surprise!

Parliament. Former NRM secretary general Amama Mbaabzi was yesterday rejected by the National Executive Committee from being a member of the Central Executive Committee, the party's top decision making body.
The new NRM leaders yesterday celebrated a double victory when they were approved by the party's NEC as court also dismissed a petition which had sought to block their vetting and the subsequent assumption of their respective offices.
During the NEC meeting at State House Entebbe yesterday, there was stern opposition to former prime minister Amama Mbabazi who had been nominated to the Central Executive Committee the previous day. The CEC meeting had nominated Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Mr Mbabazi, Dr Crispus Kiyonga, Ms Amelia Kyambadde, Ms Dorothy Hyuha, Mr Michael Ssekamate and Mr Singh Katongole. However, NEC yesterday instead nominated Gen Kahinda Otafiire to take Mbabazi's slot on CEC. Mr Museveni adjourned the NEC proceedings for two hours to convene an urgent CEC meeting to discuss Gen Otafiire's nomination and Mbabazi's fate.
When Museveni reconvened the NEC meeting at about 4:30pm, sources said, the list of new nominees to CEC had increased from seven to 13. The matter was put to vote by secret ballot to select the final five and Mbabazi was thrown out. Otafiire emerged top with 508 votes, Rugunda (450), Oleru Huda (399), Kiyonga (367) and Hyuha (283).
Others approved for CEC are: Bugiri Woman MP and Government Chief Whip Ms Justine Kasule Lumumba as new SG, replacing Mr Mbabazi; her deputy Mr Richard Todwong; Ms Rose Namayanja (treasurer) and her deputy Dr Kenneth Omona.
Others are: Makerere University don, Dr Tanga Odoi (Chairman of Electoral Commission); former Mbarara Municipality MP, Mr. John Kigyagi (his deputy); former Bundibugyo District Woman MP, Ms Jane Alisemera Babiiha as member.
