{UAH} Hon. Emelia Kyambadde; Ban or Rise tax 80% on imported furniture

If you walk the entire Bombo – Jinja Roads and In industrial area, the most prominent business traded here is in imported furniture. These trading companies can as well start furniture design and production here in Uganda so that Ugandans learn and gain skills in some form of trade in wood technologies.

Really Uganda had virgin forests that could offer thousands of young men in furniture design, architecture, fine arts and welding vacancies.

Uganda is capable of producing both soft (dry regions) and hard wood (wet regions). Let the government of Uganda ban furniture export and/or increase taxes on imported furniture.

If Uganda increase in export of furniture will improve Uganda's balance of trade.
