At 1pm, Gen Elly Tumwine dashed to Sejusa's home and held a brief meeting with his lawyers. In the meeting, Tumwine informed his bush war comrade that the President was ready to meet him at State House.
Sejusa hesitated, sticking to his earlier stance that he would only meet Museveni after he has been retired from the army. After persuasion from Gen Tumwine, he agreed to meet the President on condition that his lawyers are not locked out.

Tumwine consulted and after a few minutes, informed Sejusa that Museveni had no objection to the lawyers' presence. Sejusa then entered a civilian Land cruiser car registration number plate UAV 605U with his lawyers.
Tumwine's convoy, which comprised a State House vehicle, sped off and cruised to State House Entebbe. After the 40-minute meeting, the convoy returned to Sejusa's residence in Naguru.

The two generals then sat in a two-hour meeting where Sejusa's lawyers were asked to leave. At around 7pm, Tumwine left the place with the military police guards that had surrounded Sejusa's home since Friday morning.
