Nabagereka Primary School has been demolished. The school owned by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is located in Kisenyi, Mengo in Kampala.
The affected teachers say police cordoned off the place on Friday morning at around 5am and ordered them to remove their belongings.
Unidentified investor is said to have acquired the land.
The school head teacher said the ministry of education was still handling the matter.
"We did not get any court order as the ministry had blocked the investor from developing the land. We have lost properties including school files," she said.
Messrs Boost Investor had given the school administration up to December 31, 2014 to vacate the premises. However, the Solicitor General (SG) had advised that the school had rights as a bonifade occupant for it had occupied the land for over 40 years.
According to information from KCCA, the land was sold off by Buganda Land Board.
"We were shocked to learn that the school was demolished despite a directive from the ministry of education," KCCA spokesperson Peter Kaujju said.
KCCA officials at the scene told teachers to take their belongings to Nakivubo Primary School.
