Katumwa in police grips for defilement

Businessman David Katumwa was on Friday taken to his home under tight security to search for more clues that will help with the investigations in the defilement case which led to his arrest.

The victim (names withheld) told police that she still recalls the red panty and clothes he was putting on Jan 02, the day the incident happened, so police was forced to carry out a search at his home for clothes similar to those described by the girl. The findings are vital for court proceedings.

How it all started

The girl's elder sister noticed that her sister, who is now 14 as opposed to the 16 that was reported earlier was not well and on asking her she could narrate what happened. It took a bit of beating for her to explain what exactly happened, it was then that she revealed that Katumwa had used her.

Earlier on. she tried reaching out to Katumwa to explain what she was going through following the incident, but the businessman was not cooperating.

For example, she told him of how she was bleeding too much, but instead, Katumwa asked her to use part of the shs 20,000/- he had paid her after the act.

The victim and her other friends are fond of playing in the courtyard where Katumwa resides, so on that day, he asked her to come along with him and when she did, he (Katumwa) just drove to the lodge and one thing led to the other.

Katumwa was arrested on Jan 07. His wife left him due to infidelity. Although he knows the girl, Katumwa insists he is innocent.
