{UAH} NRM ADOPTS OUR PROPOSAL

News from the high echelons of the ruling National Resistance Movement
party is that new rules have been adopted including the requirement
that ONE MUST HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF THE PARTY FOR AT LEAST FIVE YEARS
TO QUALIFY TO CONTEST FOR M.P ON ITS TICKET.

This is a proposal we severally wrote on this forum while explaining
the conduct of characters such as the rebel MPs some of whom just
found themselves in things minus knowing the chart route to there.
There was also the case of Kipoi Nsubuga (Bubulo West) who popped in
from Sangoma-knows-where and won the ticket and the general election.
the rest is controversial history.

The story on NRM's new rules was carried as a lead in last weekend's
Sunday Vision. The rule certainly knocks new entrants from the army
who retired recently, civil servants, upstarts, etc and has its own
disadvantages but time for pure principled political party politics is
at hand.

Our proposal, which we sneaked into the party deliberations using
other channels as well, had also suggested that senior LCs also have
some experience in party activities. this we don't know yet if it was
adopted.

This is a good trend if U.A.H bloggers can influence policy in real
terms all the time than engaging in endless mental duels like most
intellectuals are known to excel at while the ground rots. It;s the
reason why chain-link critical reports in Monitor and other radical
media and hate-blogs have failed to bring down NRM for all this time.

Other parties are welcome to adopt the above-mentioned rule, too, for
coherence and discipline in their ranks. No need to pay us as we are
seldom rewarded for our humble contributions.
