Professor Elisam Magara, a Makerere University lecturer, who was suspended for allegedly awarding marks to students without marking their scripts, has sued Vice Chancellor John Ddumba-Ssentamu, saying that he is "witch-hunting him".

According to Makerere University, which has been attached as the first respondent in the suit, Magara awarded 33 students of East African School of Library and Information Science (EASLIS) marks without marking their papers.

Magara and Ddumba-Ssentamu both contested for the university vice-chancellorship in 2012, which the latter lost. Magara, who has been at the university since 1997, claims that Ddumba-Ssentamu still sees him as his rival. The students who are affected are supposed to graduate this month.
