SV: {UAH} Hon. Karooro Okurut; Occupational Safety and Health Act 2006

DAN,
As one of those who have been at this for long ((including yourself)),
I salute Hon Karooro on this even if experience has markt many of us with
close to cynical scars which incline us not to applaud in advance for fear this too, could be a "one night" this thing.

But,what the Hell, enjoy the moment of a fall infront. If Hon Karooro indeed
chances to mean business and the operation not selectively applied, this would even generate several chains of jobs ranging from artisans(builders, plumbers, brick layers mm), inspectors, cleaners, engineers, material suppliers & transporters mm., osv

And not to forget psychological and ergonomical aspects.

Yesterday, I pointed out this thing about railway station plattforms that
are not responsive to this Act Hon Karooro is lifting.

SEVERAL CHAINS OF JOBBS HERE!!!!!!!!
Noc'la gaumoy

"WE FORM THE CULTURE THAT FORMS US"….noc'la gaumoy.

Wonderful Hon. Mary Karooro Okurut - this is over due and Uganda for once need to observe international standards of ; work place, buildings, hygiene some schools, hospitals, government offices are so teribly dilapidated etc imagine that Hilton loose its occupation since the hotel is being occupied in an unfinished state.

In fact that is what is lacking to bring our institution to international standards and ISO certification. see KCCA offices top most!

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2006, the ministry is mandated to ensure safety of premises and the work environment for workers, with a thorough a checklist looking out for requirements such as a written safety and health policy, chemical safety, risk assessment and management plan, rumps for people with disabilities, fire response mechanisms and first aid kits.
Under section 69-82 of the act, companies are required to pay a fee for examination of statutory plants and equipment that encompasses tower cranes, lifting chains, shackles, overhead cranes, gas and air receivers.
