{UAH} THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE SERIES ON ACHOLI VIOLENCE

Ugandan friends,

 

Today I have decided to do something slightly different,  taking stock since I began the series several months ago. This series would have ended within a week or so, if Acholi, the so-called elite on this forum acknowledged for once, that indeed, their fellow countrymen were involved in what the series has exposed. The series has continued to run and will go on as long as possible,  until one or two Acholi admit and say yes, our folks were involved in many of the massacres that many writers from different parts of the world have written about and will continue to do so. It cost nothing for one to admit mistakes and take responsibility. But instead of doing so, they continue to promote that culture of blame, insult and abuse extending the lifespan of this series. In fact when I began the series I did not expect to exceed more than five, because I was not aware how much has been written and piled by academics of all kinds on Acholi violence. It is shocking that with all this evidence, Acholi can still continue to deny without shame their role in destroying Uganda but would prefer mentioning only Iddi Amin and Yoweri Museveni. How blind can one be not to see their own deeds has caused to a nation and people. What this series has accomplished so far is the exposition of the well-oiled and shaped skills of fabrication, maliciousness, jealousy--going the extra mile to destroy those who are a bit ahead of them. One wonders how much Acholi would have accomplished in terms of development if they did not carry this negative behavior and jealousy towards others.

 

The tendency of self-promotion and glorification is another destructive element our Acholi brothers carry. In education, they talk as if they are the first and only ones to attend school and obtain diplomas, certificates and degrees. And yet, in the case of Uganda, Education by missionaries began in the South and later extended northwards. Buganda was the first to host a technical college in 1922,  which later became a university college in 1949,  and eventually university in 1970. If anything, Baganda should be bragging about education more than our Acholi brothers considering apart from Makerere it hosted some of the best colleges such as King's College Buddo,  St. Henry College  Kitovu,  Namilyango College, St. Mary's College Kisubi, Trinity College Nabingo, Gayaza Girls School, Nabisunsa and the list goes on. What school is in Lango let alone Acholi? So in all education praised here they have actually simply been parasites all along, and parasites that have failed to pick up a single day and construct a reasonable school in the region. They turned around and even destroyed Aboke that was handed to them.

 

Unfortunately, the early success of Buganda attracted some of the most undesirable elements from upcountry and established cultures that were unknown in Bulemezi. "Ekitibwa kya Buganda" was turned upside to the extent that Baganda no longer know who they are. And that is what our brothers from Acholi refer to as "nationalism". Once you destroy other people's culture you refer to it as nationalism. And without shame, they are even calling for federalism with the same people whose culture they forcefully destroyed. My brothers from Acholi, if the intense effort you put in destroying those who are successful or succeeding were translated into positive contribution, George Okello would not be sitting in London abusing people, but an Attorney General in Kampala the man who would have replaced Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa. But the man love "lugambo" and maliciousness the same way he loves his "mwenge Bigere".
